Christian Eriksen stands by his decision to publicly declare his intention to leave Tottenham Hotspur, The Daily Mail reports. Eriksen said that he wished his future could be decided like video game Football Manager after his failed move.
The Denmark midfielder attracted attention from PSG and Real Madrid but a move never materialised. With one year remaining on his Spurs contract, he could still leave in January or on a free transfer next summer.

When asked whether he made the wrong decision, Eriksen responded (via The Daily Mail): “No it wasn’t (wrong) but it is football and you never know what happens in football and many things always come into play. I wish I could decide just as in the Football Manager (game) but unfortunately I can’t.”
Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Eriksen has played in every single Tottenham game this season. He opened his account for the season in the North London derby against Arsenal and will remain a Tottenham player until January at least.
TBR’s view
Eriksen has been transparent throughout the whole situation, stating he wants a new challenge. Unlike some others, he has not pushed for a move, handed in a transfer request or refused to play.
Tottenham know the 27-year-old will perform well until January when the rumours are likely to start again. But he cannot be criticised for his conduct during this saga.
