Chelsea are on course to beat Tottenham to the signing of impressive Torino defender, Gleison Bremer, with the Blues ready to launch a bid for the Brazilian in January.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Bremer is wanted by English clubs, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting how Chelsea have now moved into pole position to land the Torino man.
This news could be a blow to Tottenham. The North London outfit have reportedly identified Bremer themselves as an ideal signing. Indeed, reports just last week suggested Spurs could land Bremer for as little as £21m in the window.

Bremer, 24, is out of contract in 2023 and there has been no sign of fresh terms being agreed yet. It means Torino are likely to cash in on their man, with January a distinct possibility for movement. Bremer is approaching the 100 appearance mark for the Serie A side, and has played all but one game this season.
Tottenham are expected to back Antonio Conte in January with new players. Chelsea, meanwhile, face an anxious wait on a number of current defenders, in terms of contracts. Bremer, then, is an obvious choice.
TBR’s View: Tottenham Could Be Blown Out Of The Water By Chelsea
The issue for Spurs in January is that it’s unlikely they’re going to be able to guarantee European football. On the flip side, Chelsea are more or less guaranteed a Champions League spot.
When it comes to Bremer, one would assume his ambitions are to play at the highest level he can. But, Spurs might also be hoping that Antonio Conte is the ace up the sleeve as well.
Chelsea, too, can also pay more in wages, you’d imagine. Tottenham have a few on huge money, but Chelsea are not averse to splashing out, even on squad players. For Spurs, the Blues’ interest in Bremer could be a worrying development and trend ahead of January.
