Chelsea are the latest club to enter the race for Liverpool target Sander Berge, according to Goal.
Genk midfielder Berge has been strongly linked with Liverpool in the recent past. But the Reds will face a transfer tussle with Napoli and Chelsea if they wish to sign Berge.
The Norway international only has 18 months remaining on his contract with the Belgian champions. Although Genk have not yet received an offer, it seems increasingly likely that Berge will depart in the near future.

Chelsea are currently under a transfer ban so any deal would hinge on this being lifted. If Chelsea are allowed to sign players again, Frank Lampard will launch a move for Berge.
The 21-year-old has played 20 times this season and scored twice. This includes two games against Liverpool in the Champions League. With over 100 games for Genk under his belt, as well as senior appearances for Valerenga in Norway, Berge provides experience alongside his youth.
Liverpool have been monitoring Berge’s progression and had the advantage of scouting him firsthand. But there will be a battle for his signature if the Reds decide to firm up their interest.
TBR’s view
Liverpool have two major advantages over Chelsea in this race. Firstly, Berge has openly admitted that he would be interested in a Liverpool move. Secondly, Chelsea’s transfer ban means uncertainty surrounds their hopes of sealing a deal.
But it is unclear how serious Napoli are. Berge has also faced the Serie A team in the Champions League this season and they seem suitably impressed. Liverpool might have to move quickly if they are serious about the Norwegian starlet.
