Report: Chances of Arsenal selling Saliba to Marseille now non-existent

The chances of William Saliba leaving Arsenal to join Marseille again are described as non-existent by Media Foot in France, with the Ligue 1 side not prepared to meet the asking price for the centre-back, which could reach £30 million.

Doubts persist over the future of Saliba in North London. Of course, he is still awaiting the chance to make his competitive debut for Mikel Arteta’s side.

He spent last season on loan at Stade Velodrome. But it seems that he is now set to be involved in Arteta’s plans for the coming campaign.

Media Foot notes that Saliba has publicly spoken of his desire to make the grade in North London. However, they also claim that it is something of a different story behind the scenes.

Saliba apparently wants Marseille to make a move to bring him back.

Unfortunately for Saliba – if that is the case – Marseille are not planning to break the bank to strike a deal. Arsenal reportedly want up to £30 million for the defender. But the Ligue 1 side are not willing to meet those demands.

Arsenal fans may only hear the end of Saliba speculation once season is underway

Arsenal supporters are probably fed up of the rumours and speculation. But it is something that the Gunners have probably not helped by struggling to find a place for Saliba until now.

In truth, the speculation may only stop once he is playing for Arsenal once the season is underway. It may even carry on beyond that.

He probably would be happy if he ended up moving back to Marseille. But surely, his priority is to prove why so many fans have been backing him to be an amazing signing for Arsenal.

He is an ‘extraordinary‘ talent, also wanted by Barcelona. And the Gunners would be foolish to let him go without giving him a proper chance.
