Turkish website Sporun Dibi have claimed that Lille right-back and Turkey international Zeki Celik will leave the Champions League side this summer – with Tottenham rivalling an Italian club for the defender.
Celik, 23, only joined Lille in the summer of 2018 but has since starred for the French side. Initially impressing in a Lille side that reached the Champions League in his first season, Celik played all six group games this term.
Though the 14-time international has netted just once in 68 outings, he has laid on an impressive eight assists for Lille. But the latest report claims that Celik will leave Lille this summer, with Spurs one of two clubs interested.
He will leave if an offer between £18million and £22.5million is tabled – a fee which Spurs are more than capable of producing. The only issue, though, is that Atalanta – who sit second in Serie A – are also keen.
TBR’s view – Can Spurs beat Atalanta to Celik signature?
Atalanta are about to qualify for Champions League football for a second successive season. They behind only Juventus in the top tier of Italian football, and are one of the most exciting clubs in European football right now.
So, can Spurs beat Atalanta? Spurs have Jose Mourinho, arguably the best stadium and facilities in the world, and the chance to play in the Premier League and live in London. Atalanta would be an excellent move, though.
