Report: Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard on five-man AC Milan shortlist this summer

Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard, is said to be one of five strikers that AC Milan are considering making a move for this summer, according to Calciomercato.

Edouard is one of the most sought-after young strikers in Europe and was consistently linked with moves last summer and in January. The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been mentioned, but it now appears it is AC Milan who have got Edouard in their sights.

The French striker is said to be on a five-man list that includes Andrea Belotti, Dusan Vlahovic, Myron Boadu, and reported Liverpool target, Donyell Malen.

With no manager in place as yet at Parkhead, Celtic are expected to have a busy summer. A number of key players, such as Edouard, are being tipped to leave, unless a new man in charge can convince them otherwise.

Milan, then, would be quite the step up for Edouard and he’d join a young, exciting squad looking to get the Italian giants back on the map.

TBR View: Milan still a huge name in world football, but can they afford Edouard?

The report from CM does hint at this, but Milan might struggle to finance a deal for Edouard, especially if Celtic dig their heels.

Edouard is probably the club’s most valuable asset so there’s no way he’s going on the cheap. £20m+ is the fee Celtic will likely look for, with bids closer to £30m probably expected.

Milan is a huge club and Edouard would find it hard to turn down, but ultimately, the money needs paying.
