Celtic forward Armstrong Okoflex is being monitored by some English clubs, according to a report from The Telegraph.
The Hoops appeared to pull off a significant coup last summer when they announced that they had signed the forward from Arsenal.
The 17-year-old is yet to play for the first-team at Parkhead. But he has been a regular fixture in the reserves, and The Telegraph reports that he has been training with Neil Lennon’s men this season.
It appears that his development is attracting attention.
The Telegraph reports that the Republic of Ireland under-19 international is being tracked by England in the hope that he can be convinced to switch his national allegiances.
But, more importantly for Celtic fans, The Telegraph also reports that English clubs are looking at Okoflex.
It may not surprise those at Celtic to see Okoflex attracting attention. It looked to be a fantastic piece of business to get him from the Gunners. And it is probably a matter of time before he does make that senior debut.
Celtic have a fantastic record of signing young players and selling them on for a considerable profit. They will surely have little interest in selling him anytime soon. But perhaps this report highlights that Okoflex is destined to be another that nets Celtic a sizeable sum.
