Report: Celtic want to sign Everton outcast Yannick Bolasie
Celtic are one of three clubs in the hunt to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie. According to Goal, Celtic will rival Besiktas and Rennes for Bolasie before the end of the European window.
Bolasie failed to secure a move to another English club as the Premier League and Championship transfer window slammed shut last Thursday. But he is still able to move away from Goodison Park while the European window remains open.
The 30-year-old is out-of-favour at Everton and is unlikely to get any playing time this season. He was forced even further down the pecking order when Alex Iwobi arrived from Arsenal on deadline day.
Last season, Bolasie spent time on loan with Aston Villa and Anderlecht. The former Crystal Palace winger has slipped out of contention at Everton since his long-term injury.
But there are options on the table for Bolasie this summer. The DR Congo international recently rejected a loan-to-buy switch to CSKA Moscow as he does not want to play in Russia. But he now has offers in France, Scotland and Turkey.
Bolasie could be an exciting signing for Celtic
If Celtic win the race for Bolasie, he could be a marquee signing for the Bhoys. Bolasie has lots of flair and he can produce some audacious skill. In the Scottish Premiership, he could be a dangerous weapon for Celtic.
Goals have not been the problem so far this season. But having Bolasie competing with James Forrest, Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor, Lewis Morgan, Scott Sinclair and Marian Shved could unlock a new level for Celtic.
