Celtic want Leicester youngster Sidnei Tavares, but The Sun reports that the Hoops face a battle with the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich for the 19-year-old.
Tavares’s future appears to lie away from the King Power Stadium. Despite being labelled a ‘real talent’ by Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes have held no talks with the teenager about a new contract, according to The Sun.

The report notes that his current deal expires in the summer. But Barca are hoping to steal a march on their rivals for the midfielder.
The Sun claims that the Catalan giants plan to bid for Tavares this month. And it is suggested that they have a gentleman’s agreement with Leicester for Barcelona to be his first-choice move this summer if a deal cannot be agreed in this window.

How Tavares feels about this reported agreement is not clear. But The Sun does suggest that Celtic, Juve, Bayern and Porto are also monitoring his situation.
Tavares – who is Nani’s cousin – has only made a handful of appearances for the under-21s and under-23s this term. He scored and provided an assist in his only appearance in the EFL Trophy.
TBR View: Celtic want Leicester youngster who could emulate Moussa Dembele
Admittedly, Celtic have not always success in recent years when signing youngsters from English clubs.
But there is one standout success story for the Hoops that makes all the disappointments seem worthwhile.
The Bhoys signed Moussa Dembele in 2016 when his Fulham contract expired. At the time, it appeared to be a huge coup. And his time at Parkhead only backed that theory up.
Tavares is a lot less experienced than Dembele was. But judging by the list of club chasing him, it appears that he could be destined for an incredible career.
