Celtic are reportedly set to ramp up their move for Kilmarnock defender Greg Taylor shortly.

According to the Daily Record, the Bhoys have made contact with Kilmarnock about the left-back and been informed he is valued at £3million.

It is understood that they are still keen on the Scottish full-back, but don’t want to meet that valuation.

The report explains that Celtic are “expected” to make a bid over the next 48 hours for him.

It’s believed that they are likely to offer around £1million, as well as including a player on loan and Kilmarnock are keen on defender Jack Hendry.

TBR’s View:

Celtic need a new full-back in before the window closes and Taylor could be a hit for them.

The 21-year-old is an exciting talent that already has one senior international cap for Scotland and has racked up plenty of experience in the top-flight with Kilmarnock.

Celtic need to avoid going down the route of using Callum McGregor as a make-shift left-back as he’s best in midfield, while summer recruit Boli Bolingoli hasn’t really impressed yet and he needs genuine competition for his spot.

Taylor has the potential to make the step up in his game and would be a smart addition to the squad.
