Celtic target Timothy Castagne has told Belgian media outlet Het Laatste Nieuws that his ‘dream’ is to play Premier League football.
Atalanta player Castagne was strongly linked with Celtic in the January transfer window. Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Celtic had a big-money bid rejected for the defender.
The Bhoys were hoping that Castagne could solve their right-back problem but a move never materialised.
With some fans speculating about whether Celtic will rekindle their interest in the Belgium international next summer, his latest comments suggest he could be heading elsewhere.
As translated by Sport Witness, Castagne told Het Laatste Nieuws: “The Premier League remains my dream competition, but it all depends on which teams want me – I would rather have a top club in Italy than a bottom team from England…”

There are bound to be a number of Premier League clubs looking for a right-back in the summer and Castagne fits the bill.
The 23-year-old has stated that he does not want to play for a ‘bottom team’ in the Premier League but plenty of top-flight clubs could chase him.
Brendan Rodgers might be tempted to reignite his interest as he was the Celtic manager when they were chasing Castagne.
Other Premier League clubs who might be looking for a right-back in the summer include Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham and Everton.
