Celtic have reportedly rejected a move from Arsenal for their defender Kieran Tierney.

According to the Scottish Sun, the Bhoys have turned down a £15million offer from the Premier League side.

It is understood that Neil Lennon’s team will demand at least £25million for him, but that they are open to the possibility of allowing his exit.

The report details that Arsenal are expected to return with another bid within days for him and have already tried to include fringe players as part of a deal.

Tierney has established himself as a Celtic great already with five league titles under his belt and has been such a consistent perfumer at left-back for a number of years.

The Scotland international came through the youth ranks and it’s no surprise that he’s attracting interest from the Premier League.

Liverpool’s Andy Robertson went from unknown to a Champions League winner and Tierney would surely hope to follow a similar path to his international teammate.

TBR’s View:

Celtic seem resigned to losing Tierney this summer and have every right to hold out for over £25million, as he’s got all the potential to succeed in England.

The 22-year-old has achieved so much in his career already with Celtic and he may fancy a new challenge.

A £25million windfall would allow Lennon to invest in the squad this summer, but it would be extremely difficult to replace a top-class full-back that defends smartly and is a threat going forward too.
