Celtic are looking to edge ahead of Arsenal in the race to land highly-rated prospect, Calum Kavanagh, according to The Herald.
Kavanagh, who is the son of former Stoke City and Ireland midfielder, Graham Kavanagh, is currently on the books at Middlesbrough.

Still just 16-years-old, Kavanagh has been a regular goalscorer for the academy side at the Riverside this term.
However, such is his talent, it has been claimed a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, are keen on taking to Kavanagh to the top-flight.
But Celtic are now hoping to lure the youngster to Parkhead. The Bhoys will be hoping to use the promise of European football and a clear progression to convince Kavanagh to make the move.
The likes of Leicester City and Newcastle are both said to be keen on Kavanagh, too.

The teenager is already playing for Ireland at under-17 level and is widely expected to continue his progression into becoming a full international.
A big statement if Celtic can beat Arsenal to Kavanagh’s signature – TBR View
Little is really known about Kavanagh outside of Middlesbrough but enough is known to suggest he is a real talent.
That’s why if Celtic can land him it would send a major statement. The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are huge clubs in their own right. For the Bhoys to move ahead of those two suggests they can still lure players.
Kavanagh has a big decision to make really. A move to Celtic gives him the chance of potentially playing first-team football quicker. On the other hand, moves to the Premier League don’t come about too often either.
Whatever happens, the Middlesbrough youngster has a big decision to make this summer.
