Celtic have reportedly made a major breakthrough in their search for a new manager, with talkSPORT claiming Eddie Howe has agreed a deal to become the new Hoops boss.
The media outlet claims that the 43-year-old has agreed to take on the challenge of wrestling the Scottish Premiership title back from Rangers.
Howe, who has been out of management since leaving Bournemouth last August, is believed to be finalising his backroom staff ahead of taking the Parkhead reins, added the report.

Celtic have been searching for a new manager since February, with Neil Lennon resigning and John Kennedy taking over as caretaker boss for the rest of the season.
At the time of Lennon’s departure, the Bhoys were trailing Rangers by 18 points.
Howe, who had two spells as Bournemouth manager spanning more than 11 years and close to 500 games, has been heavily linked with the Celtic job in recent months.
TBR View:
This has been a season that Celtic fans will want to forget, but if Howe is appointed, then it’d go a long way towards putting things right.
Howe is a great manager who did well at Bournemouth and is certainly a great shout to help rebuild the team and get them playing attractive and efficient football.
