Celtic have reportedly joined the pursuit for Middlesbrough enforcer Paddy McNair this summer.
According to TEAMtalk, the Bhoys have made an enquiry for the 24-year-old and face competition from several teams.
It is understood that the in demand ace is also wanted by English clubs Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County.
The report details that Championship side Boro are prepared to sell the Northern Ireland international this summer if they make back the £3million they paid for him.
McNair has a difficult first year with Boro last season by making just 23 appearances, but that hasn’t deterred potential suitors.
He is a versatile player known for his strength on and off the ball, while he can slot in at several positions.
McNair played comfortably at centre-back for Boro last season, while he usually comes into the midfield on the international stage.
He’s a product of the Manchester United academy with a lot of potential and is still trying to find his place at club level.

TBR’s View:
McNair is the type of Celtic signing that would make sense for manager Neil Lennon and potentially be a bargain at £3million.
His flexibility to play several positions on the park is a major bonus, but the Bhoys should look to bring him into their midfield if he does end up at Parkhead.
The Scottish champions have immense competition to win the race for his signature, but have the pull of European football and perhaps more regular first-team action.
McNair has proven in glimpses his quality and is a key performer for his nation, which is why this is an exciting target for Celtic fans to follow.
