Celtic have made contact with the representatives of Fernando Henrique as they consider a move for the midfielder in January, according to a report from Globo.
The 20-year-old has actually been a peripheral figure for Gremio of late. He has not been involved in a match day squad in the top flight since late September.

And his last league appearance came back in August.
Nevertheless, Celtic appear to be very interested in the holding midfielder. Globo reports that the Hoops have sent a representative to have a look at Henrique.
Celtic are not the only side to take an interest however. Globo reports that Al Ain held talks in September and plan to make a fresh move when the season concludes.

It is suggested that a fee of around £3.6 million was mooted in those previous talks. So that would perhaps provide an idea of what Celtic may have to be prepared to pay.
Celtic about to uncover another gem as Hoops eye Fernando Henrique?
Henrique is unlikely to be a player many football fans in Europe will have heard of. And his lack of game-time in recent times may be a concern to some.
But Celtic have produced some masterstrokes in the market in recent months. Of course, the standout was bringing Kyogo Furuhashi to Parkhead.
But signings such as Liel Abada and Jota have made major impacts already. So it is dangerous to write off anyone the Bhoys pursue.
Celtic probably need more quality in that defensive midfield position. So perhaps Henrique could prove to be another inspired addition if he ends up heading to the Scottish Premiership.
