Celtic have reportedly identified Brentford defender Rico Henry, with Kieran Tierney still being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
The Hoops are reported by The Scottish Sun to be monitoring the 22-year-old, who is a former England U20 international.
Henry has been valued at around £7 million by his club, with Celtic to bank at least £25 million from Tierney if he is to leave Parkhead.
The Gunners’ last offer of ‘around £25 million’ was rejected (BBC Sport), meaning the north Londoners will have to increase their offer to land the Scotland international – a fresh bid is expected before Thursday’s deadline.
Celtic are also said to be looking at Hull City’s Stephen Kingsley.
Given Tierney’s popularity with the Parkhead faithful, Henry could be up against it at first if he did sign.
If he joined for his apparent asking price of £7 million as well, then the pressure would be on.
But the full-back is definitely a talent and loves to bomb forward, something Celtic fans have grown used to watching the marauding Tierney over the last few years.
Henry can play as a left-back and also as a winger, and that versatility could come in very handy for Neil Lennon in 2019/20.
