Celtic are reportedly interested in defender Hatem Abd Elhamed from Israeli top-flight club Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Bhoys are weighing up a potential move for the 28-year-old this summer to help reinforce their options at the back.
It is understood that the Israel international would cost around £1.6million to prize away in the transfer window.
He earned his first senior international cap back in June off the bench against Poland and enjoyed a strong domestic campaign last season.
Abd Elhamed played 27 times across all competitions last season and chipped in with three goals.
He’s a no-nonsense enforcer that can play several positions, including centre-back, right-back or left-back.

TBR’s View:
Celtic need to bolster their defensive options for the new campaign and all eyes will be on manager Neil Lennon to see how his team shapes up.
Abd Elhamed looks like he could be a shrewd addition considering his excellent versatility and he could slot into several positions for the Scottish champions.
He’s set to be available for a fairly minimal price and also does have experience of playing outside of his homeland
The defender has had spells with the likes of Gent in Belgium and Dinamo Bucharest in Romania.
