Celtic are interested in signing Everton right-back Jonjoe Kenny as the transfer deadline looms, according to a report from The Telegraph.

From the outside, Kenny arguably appears to be one of the most likely names to leave Goodison Park in the final hours of the window.

The 23-year-old has only made one Premier League start this term. He looks to be behind Mason Holgate as well as Seamus Coleman in the pecking order.

The Sunday Mirror (24/1; page 67) reports that Carlo Ancelotti’s men are open to selling Kenny. However, they apparently want £10 million – and it was suggested that that price was putting Burnley off.

The Clarets are not the only side keen on Kenny. The Telegraph has reported that Celtic are also admirers of the full-back.

It is suggested that the Hoops may not prioritise a move for Kenny. The Bhoys are enduring a torrid time and it appears that the club may refrain from making further moves at this stage.

Celtic have lost a right-back in this window. Jeremie Frimpong has departed for Bayer Leverkusen.

They do have options following Frimpong’s exit. However, Kenny has the potential to be a significant upgrade on what Neil Lennon has been left with.

It would appear that an imminent move is currently unlikely. But in light of Frimpong’s departure, perhaps it may be a link to keep an eye out for heading into the summer.
