Celtic are reportedly interested in signing St. Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky this summer, joining Rangers in the race to land Czech goalkeeper who is set to leave Paisley at the end of the season.
Hladky, 29, has impressed with the top-flight Scottish side since joining the club in January 2019. Indeed, the Czech Under-19 international has kept an impressive 17 clean sheets in 59 outings for St. Mirren – a decent return for a struggling side.
Despite that, Hladky is in the final months of his current contract and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. According to The Sun, Rangers are interested in luring Hladky to Glasgow – but to the Light Blue half.
However, the Scottish Sun has now claimed Celtic want to land Hladky with the Hoops likely to be after a new goalkeeper in the upcoming window. It remains to be seen which club Hladky would choose, if he was forced to pick one of the Glasgow clubs.

TBR’s view – Hladky is the ideal solution to Celtic issue
Indeed, Fraser Forster is likely to be Celtic’s main priority this summer as they look to keep the man mountain on a permanent basis. He remains on loan from Southampton and if he signs, he will remain number one.
Meanwhile, veteran Craig Gordon is likely to leave the club. His contract expires in the summer, while Scott Bain remains at the club. But with the chances that both Gordon and Forster could leave, Hladky would be a cheap alternative to ease the issue.
Certainly, Hladky would be keen on a move to Celtic, after being quoted by FourFourTwo as saying he is a fan of Parkhead and the famous atmosphere: “It is a great experience for everyone to play at Celtic Park. It is a big stadium, a nice stadium.”
