Celtic have reportedly rekindled their interest in free-agent winger Andre Ayew following his release from Swansea City.
Ghana Soccernet claim that the 31-year-old attacker is back on Celtic’s radar this summer.
Football Ghana reported in 2018 that Ayew was a target for the Hoops, with then-manager Brenden Rodgers looking to sign talent from his former club Swansea.
In the market for a new striker
Celtic are in the market for an attacker with Fabrizio Romano this week reporting that Odsonne Edouard is close to a move to Leicester City.
Ayew, who guided the Swans to the Championship play-off final, left the club last week following the expiration of his contract.
The 92-capped Ghanaian international enjoyed one of his most productive seasons last term in the second-tier of England.
Ayew hit 17 goals in all competitions, assisting a further four for the Welsh club.
Celtic could finally land Ayew this summer
With previous links to the former West Ham attacker, it is likely that Celtic are considering a move for Ayew. And this could be the year the Hoops finally land their man.
Coming off the back of one of the best seasons in his career, Ayew could be the perfect player to replace the out-going Edouard. And with the African attacker a free agent, Celtic won’t have to worry about paying a transfer fee.
