Leicester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard.

According to the Daily Record, Leicester are preparing a sizeable £30million move to try land the French centre-forward.

It is understood that the Foxes realise they may have to put a move on hold until the summer, as Scottish giants Celtic won’t let the 21-year-old leave for “any price” in January.

The report does explain that there is also interest from other Premier League clubs too.

Leicester are currently second in the Premier League table and are managed by ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers signed Edouard when he was in charge at Celtic for £9million (Sky Sports) and it could take more than treble that price to form a reunion at the King Power Stadium.

TBR’s View:

Edouard is a brilliant striker that unfortunately for Celtic fans is likely to move onto bigger things, but they are right to refuse a January exit.

He’s scored 16 goals and supplied 15 assists in 31 games across all competition so far, so finding some kind of replacement will need serious planning.

Celtic have already lost Rodgers to English outfit Leicester in the past and losing their talisman next summer to the same team will be frustrating.
