Celtic are reportedly interested in a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
According to the Scottish Sun, Bhoys manager Neil Lennon will make contact with the Saints about their out of favour shot-stopper.
It is understood that the Scottish champions have just lost their goalkeeper Scott Bain with a hand injury and the worst case scenario is he could be out of action until October.
The report details Lennon wants to sign a new option in goal and is eyeing a Celtic reunion for Forster.
Forster previously won three league titles and two Scottish Cup winners during his time with Celtic, before he went on to leave in 2014.
The 6ft 7in English colossus currently finds himself out of favour, with Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy ahead of him in the pecking order at St Mary’s.
He currently finds himself a forgotten man at Southampton, so a return to Celtic to become their number one would surely be appealing for Forster.
The 31-year-old has not played a lot of football in the last year, but was previously a major hit in Scotland and he has six senior international caps for England.
Forster would be a brilliant replacement for Bain to help them try continue their domestic dominance and he’s a calming influence at the back with his presence.
Lennon is right to move quickly for a new goalkeeper during the rest of the window and could pull off a masterstroke if he manages to re-sign Southampton’s ace.
