Celtic are reportedly interested in midfielder Romaine Sawyers from English Championship club Brentford.
According to the Daily Record, Bhoys manager Neil Lennon has the 27-year-old on his radar for the summer transfer window.
It is understood that he’s a £2.5million target for the Scottish champions and could turn to him following their failed attempt to land Motherwell’s David Turnbull.
The report details that Celtic are considering the Brentford ace and are looking to improve their options in the centre of the park for the next campaign.
Celtic are also believed to have first scouted him back in 2015, when he was starring for Walsall.
Sawyers helped Brentford to an 11th-placed finish in the Championship last season and supplied seven assists in 46 games across all competitions.
The Bees ace usually plays in a central midfield role where he helps dictate play with his close control and range of passing, while he captained his side for most of last season too.
He is a 26-time capped senior international for Saint Kitts and Nevis, but was born in Birmingham.

TBR’s View:
Celtic need reinforcements to go in search of a ninth consecutive top-flight title next season and especially in the midfield.
Lennon’s side can be expected to be challenged by a Rangers team that are making improvements under Gerrard, while Kilmarnock and Aberdeen were impressive last season.
Sawyers would be an exciting target for Celtic to bring to Parkhead and he’s just about to enter the peak years of his career.
