Celtic have made no progress in their hunt for Greek goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas and are continuing to assess other options, according to reports.
The Daily Record claims that, despite reports to the contrary, Celtic have made no headway in their attempt to sign the AEK Athens stopper and that there is still no agreement between the two clubs regarding a deal for the player.
AEK are adamant on a price-tag of £6.5 million, which is significantly different from Celtic’s reported £3.5 million valuation. Whilst there is no report that the deal is dead, Celtic are said to be exploring ‘other options’ after this Barkas delay and their failure to agree a loan-to-buy deal for Fraser Forster.

Celtic lost both Forster and experienced back-up Craig Gordon in the summer and are now desperately in need of reinforcements in the goalkeeping area.
The Bhoys have been linked with a host of goalkeeping options in recent weeks, including Joe Hart, David Marshall, and Freddie Woodman.
But it seemed that Barkas had emerged as the number one choice, with the Greek international an eye-catching target.
However, the longer the two clubs appear separated on their transfer valuation for the player, the less and less likely it is that Celtic will get a deal over the line.
