Celtic defender Cristian Gamboa has been offered a return to his homeland of Costa Rice.
The Daily Record report the right-back has been targeted by Deportiva Alajuelense and is almost certain to depart Parkhead since he is out of contract at the end of the season.

Gamboa has made just 16 league starts for the club since signing from West Bromwich Albion in 2016, and the last time he featured for the club was back in December in a 1-1 draw with Motherwell.
He has played second fiddle to Mikael Lustig for most of the time he has been at the club.
29-time champions Alajuelense are said to have offered Gamboa a deal, which is ironic given the fact they supposedly rejected him nine years ago after he had a trial.
TBR’s view
Gamboa’s time at Celtic has been largely forgettable, although the player can probably count himself a tad unlucky to have played as little as he has.

Before a ball was kicked this season some Celtic fans were keen to see Gamboa be given a run in the first-team.
Now that the season is coming to a close, the consensus is that the 29-year-old should be sent on his way and the position should be upgraded on this summer, with Lustig likely to leave too.
