Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League side Leicester City.

According to the Daily Mail, Leicester have put the 21-year-old on a transfer shortlist as they look to bring in a new centre-back.

It is understood that Foxes scout Sean St Ledger watched the Norwegian enforcer on Thursday night in the Europa League win against Lazio.

The report explains that Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is open to potential new signings in January and wants to find a long-term successor to club captain Wes Morgan.

Ajer previously played under Rodgers when he was in charge at Celtic and he is now an important player under current Bhoys boss Neil Lennon.

He’s a colossus centre-back that has struck a great partnership next to Christopher Jullien and he’s got a lot of potential.

TBR’s View:

Ajer is a talented youngster that is extremely composed with the ball at his feet and could cut it in the Premier League, but Celtic should keep hold of him for the foreseeable future.

They certainly don’t want changes to their backline midway through a season and should reject any potential approaches in January.

Leicester are a team flying high third in the Premier League and Ajer should be flattered by the interest, but there is no reason for him to move away from Parkhead.
