Celtic are reportedly in the race to sign Bournemouth attacker Jordon Ibe.

According to the Daily Express, the Bhoys are battling Fiorentina, Napoli and Galatasaray for the signature of the Englishman.

It is understood that Neil Lennon’s team are “close” to securing a deal for the 23-year-old and it will be a loan move.

The report explains Bournemouth want £20million to offload him on a permanent basis, which is why the Scottish giants are now working on a temporary switch to Parkhead.

Ibe has fallen out of favour at Premier League side Bournemouth recently and it looks like he’s set for a loan spell away from the club.

The ex-Liverpool is someone that usually plays as a right-winger and on his day can torment full-backs with his pace and trickery.

TBR’s View:

Celtic’s early-season form indicates they could still do with some reinforcements before the Scottish transfer window closes and they could be about to pull off an excellent piece of business with Ibe on loan.

The dazzling wide player has the potential to rip up the Scottish division with his quality and he needs regular minutes to get back to his best.

He would definitely strengthen Lennon’s options in wide areas, but Celtic need to try add another left-back too and should perhaps make that a priority for the rest of the month.
