Celtic have confirmed their interest in Ryan Sessegnon, with Sky Sports reporting that the Hoops have made an approach for the Tottenham Hotspur youngster.
It would be little surprise to see Sessegnon secure a temporary move from Spurs before the deadline passes. The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Jose Mourinho was ready to consider loan offers for the 20-year-old, one year after his £25 million move.
It was noted by The Telegraph that a number of Premier League clubs want Sessegnon.
But it would appear that Celtic may have made the first move.
According to Sky Sports, the Hoops have approached Spurs over a potential switch. The report does suggest however, that the finances of a possible deal are likely to prove problematic.
TBR View: Huge coup for Celtic if Sessegnon can be signed on loan
It would appear that a Parkhead move currently looks unlikely. But there is no question that it would be a huge coup for Celtic to sign Sessegnon.
He did endure a tough first year at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But he showed at Fulham that he is an incredibly exciting prospect, capable of playing in a variety of roles.
It remains to be seen if Celtic can agree a deal to land Sessegnon. It would be a major statement to their rivals if they could bring him in.
