Celtic and Newcastle United are reportedly among the clubs interested in youngster Piero Hincapie, who plays in the Argentine top flight with Talleres de Cordoba.
The 19-year-old is currently catching the eye with his internatonal performances for Ecuador at Copa America this summer.
According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic are eyeing the teenage defender.
In addition, scouts from Newcastle, Atletico Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also monitoring him.
It is understood that he’s valued at £3.5million.
Hincapie has a low price tag, but it’s unclear on if he would be sold by Talleres this summer.
He’s a left-footed centre-back that is making a name for himself in the Copa America, so he’s got a host of European clubs now circling potentially for his signature.
Celtic, Newcastle target Piero Hincapie looks primed for Europe
If you are good enough as a South American youngster, a lot of the time you’ll end up making the move across the continent to Europe.
Scottish champions Celtic are in desperate need of a centre-half to fill out their squad, so at £3.5million Hincapie looks a great target. New Hoops manager Ange” Postecoglou needs some extra help.
Meanwhile, Newcastle can offer the temptation of Premier League football. But, the report puts forward some elite clubs that are looking at him.
He’s a ball-playing defender that is technically sound and has bags of pace.
