Norwegian outlet VG have claimed that Celtic have secured the loan signing of Southampton winger Mo Elyounoussi for a second season – after the attacker starred for the Scottish champions during 2019-20.
Elyounoussi, a £16million (BBC) signing for Southampton in the summer of 2018 from FC Basel, struggled during his first season at Saints – and that saw Celtic land the 24-time Norway ace on loan last summer.
Though he only played 20 times due to numerous injuries, Elyounoussi scored seven goals and created six more during his loan. Neil Lennon made it clear that he wanted to keep the former Molde FK ace.
Now, reports from Elyounoussi’s home country suggest a second loan to Celtic has been engineered. The report claims he Celtic and Real Betis to choose from, and picked the chance to return to Parkhead for 2020-21.

TBR’s view – Stunning Celtic business to get Elyounoussi again
Unlucky with injury, Elyounoussi showed in his Celtic appearances that he is clearly too good to play in the Scottish Premiership. It is a real coup for Celtic to sign the winger again, and gives them a real boost in search of 10 in a row.
If the Hoops can keep Olivier Ntcham, Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard and re-sign Fraser Forster, then they will once again stand an excellent chance of beating Rangers to the title.
