Celta Vigo are hoping that Okay Yokuslu impresses enough while out on loan at West Bromwich Albion to earn a permanent exit in the summer, according to a report from Birmingham Live.

The 26-year-old has made a promising start to life at the Hawthorns. He came off the bench for the latter stages of the defeat at Tottenham. And he made his full debut for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

The Turkey international was hugely impressive at the weekend. It was the kind of performance that may have tempted some Baggies fans to wonder about what the chances may be of keeping the midfielder beyond his loan spell.

The positive news is his parent club are seemingly keen to offload him. According to Birmingham Live, Celta are open to selling him this summer.

It is suggested the La Liga side hope that he can do enough to earn a move – whether that be to West Brom or elsewhere.

Birmingham Live also adds however, that Sam Allardyce’s men’s hopes of signing Yokuslu may rest on whether they stay up. Of course, that currently appears to be a monumental task.

TBR View: West Brom may hold out hope even if relegated

Yokuslu cost Celta £5.2 million when he joined in 2018 (TFN). And that may encourage West Brom should they look at signing the midfielder even if they are relegated.

Celta will presumably not expect a large fee. And, while the Baggies have not been big spenders, an asking price anywhere near what Celta paid may well be within their budget.

However, if his full debut is a sign of what is to come, it seems unlikely that West Brom will be the only side eyeing a summer move.
