New Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti, will refuse any bids from Manchester United for Brazilian forward, Richarlison.

The new Toffees gaffer has overseen two wins in a row since taking over from Marco Silva. And now the Italian is looking to build on his good start, by keeping hold of his best players in the first instance.

According to a report from the Sun on Sunday, Ancelotti has full control over transfers at the club.

This means that even if Manchester United were to bid around £70m for Richarlison, Ancelotti would flatly refuse to sell the Brazilian star.

Ancelotti apparently sees Richarlison as key to his plans. The former Watford man has been impressive since making a big-money move to Goodison Park.

Indeed, this season he has been amongst the goals once more. He’s netted six times in the Premier League already and become a key player for the Toffees.

Consistency

Carlo Ancelotti will not be wanting to upset the apple cart too much. He’s made a good start and will no doubt need Richarlison to be at his best to continue that start.

Key to that will be keeping a regular first XI. With Richarlison a key part of that XI, it’s important for the Italian that he keeps his best players.

He’ll no doubt be looking to add to the squad come January. However, it’s just as important for the Everton manager to keep hold of key men.

TBR View

While Everton don’t need to sell, sometimes it can’t be helped. Manchester United remain a massive club and if they make their move, Richarlison himself might well fancy the switch.

That’s the thing you can’t legislate for in football. For all the goodwill of rejecting bids and wanting to keep your team together, player power can sometimes hinder it.

Richarlison does seem happy though, so it would be a surprise to see him leave in the coming months.
