Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti believes he can get Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot for just £10 million this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Toffees boss is a big fan of the Red Devils right-back and is plotting a swoop for the Portugal under-21 international.
Everton finished 13th last season and that simply won’t do for Ancelotti. He will want to get the club challenging for European qualification as quickly as possible.
The Italian has Seamus Coleman at the moment but at 31 his days at the top level will slowly start to decline.
Whilst the Republic of Ireland man is still a steady performer, it won’t do any harm to attract a younger model to provide competition to the squad.
Dalot can play in either full-back position and United are prepared to let him leave the club this summer.
He joined the club from Porto in 2018 for £19 million but has never really held down a place in the United team.
Ancelotti will want to add to several areas of his squad this summer and signing Dalot could be ideal.
The fact he is versatile would make him a quality utility option for the Everton boss.
TBR View – Signing Dalot is a no-brainer for Ancelotti
When Dalot signed for United it was anticipated that he might become a future star.
His development has stalled somewhat at Old Trafford but that doesn’t mean he can’t play.
Heading to Everton and playing regular football could be just what Dalot needs; whilst Ancelotti could give him the confidence to really kick-start his Premier League career.
English football supporters haven’t really seen the best of Dalot yet and a move to Everton could be the catalyst for him to really push on.
