Callum Wilson is privately frustrated that he has not yet scored a hat-trick for Newcastle United.
The Athletic report that Wilson is not happy with his goal tallies from the previous two seasons, when he has got 12 and eight respectively.
Even if he scores in a game, Wilson laments the chances he has missed and that does not seem uncommon among elite strikers.
And the report says it is a source of frustration that he has not scored three in one game for the Magpies yet.

Wilson yet to score Newcastle hat-trick
Frustration will not be on Wilson’s mind right now, as he is focused on trying to help England win the World Cup, having arrived in Qatar with the squad.
His role in propelling Newcastle into the top four could not have come at a better time as it has earned him his international place back.
Wilson will be Harry Kane’s backup striker at the tournament, with Marcus Rashford also capable of overing cover through the middle.
Speaking on FIVE’s YouTube channel, Alan Shearer was asked about Wilson. earlier this month and said: “I’ve watched him closely, he’s playing really well.
“His movement’s fantastic, he’s one of these natural goal scorers,” and he tipped him to go to the World Cup and help make an impact.
He has the chance to do that now, and what a feeling it would be for the former Bournemouth man if he came back from Qatar with a winner’s medal around his neck.
