Burnley are planning to sign Celtic star Nir Bitton in January, according to The Scottish Sun.
Bitton is out of contract next summer and Burnley are eyeing a £1m January swoop. Sean Dyche wants to sign Bitton in a cut-price deal to bolster his squad options.
The Israel international wants to stay at Celtic but might have to consider his options if he is not rewarded with a contract extension. Bitton has enjoyed a run in the team this season and he can play in central defence or central midfield.

Burnley have had a mixed start to the season and they lie in mid-table in the league. Dyche masterminded a 3-0 victory over West Ham this weekend to reverse a run of bad form and get the Clarets back in form before the international break.
But he is targeting more success and Bitton could be a player to inspire that. With his contract running out, he could be available for a bargain price this January.
TBR’s view
Bitton is a reliable and experienced member of Celtic’s squad and Neil Lennon should give him a new contract. Even if he is just a back-up option, the 28-year-old provides versatility and a level-headed approach.
He is the type of player who could slot nicely into the Burnley team. If he gets an offer from England and a new contract offer, though, he should choose to stay where he is and reach the next level with the Bhoys.
