Burnley are weighing up making a deadline day move for Everton striker Oumar Niasse, according to a report from Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (31/1; 10:09).

Niasse has endured a poor time since moving to Goodison Park for £13.5 million in 2016 (via BBC Sport). He has scored eight Premier League goals for the Toffees.

The 29-year-old has twice left the club on loan during the January transfer window. And it appears that he may get the chance to move on for a third time today.

According to Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (31/1; 10:09), the Clarets are considering making a move to take Niasse on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Interestingly, Niasse has featured in Everton’s last two games. On both occasions, he came off the bench for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

So perhaps it may not be a formality should Burnley confirm their interest with a bid for the striker in the final hours of the window.

Sean Dyche’s men lost Ashley Barnes to injury earlier in the month. So perhaps the interest in Niasse has arisen with Barnes’s spell on the sidelines in mind.

Niasse would be forgiven for wanting Burnley to make a move in the final hours of the month. But time is clearly running out for the Senegal international.
