Barcelona goalkeeper Neto apparently has reservations over a potential move to Arsenal, the Athletic suggest.
Doubts emerging
Arsenal have ultimately pushed for Aaron Ramsdale again now, after considering looking at Neto.
The Gunners initially appeared to have given up the chase for Ramsdale, after a disagreement over price.
At that stage, Neto became one of their first choice targets to come in.
However, the Brazilian, who was described as ‘brilliant’ by Marcelino (Belfast Telegraph), reportedly wasn’t keen on the idea of a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Second choice?
That is because Neto wanted his next move to be to a club where he would be first choice.

The 32-year-old has played second fiddle at Barcelona for a number of years, and apparently had doubts over whether doing the same at Arsenal would be a good career move for him.
As a result, Arsenal never really pushed through the transfer – and they now appear to be in with a chance of landing Ramsdale from Sheffield United, who was their first choice all along.
There is unlikely to be too many tears shed from Gunners fans over missing out on Neto, who was only likely to be a short-term fix anyway.
His advancing years and lack of first-team minutes in recent times, meant that he would only ever have served as cover.
But it is crucial that Arsenal do sign a new number two in the coming days, as their options in goal currently look very short.
