According to the Scottish Sun, Ajer is poised to join Brentford for £13.5million. The report explains the 23-year-old will have a medical in London this Friday.

It is understood personal terms have been sorted. In addition, that £13.5million fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

Can Ajer be another Celtic player to shine in Premier League?

Ajer, who’s got the versatility to play several positions, looks set to take a first step into the Premier League.

He’s set to take on the challenge of helping a Brentford side new to the top division.

The Norway international can play in midfield or cover at right-back. However, he’s most effective at centre-back.

There are numerous cases of players thriving after transfers from Celtic to England’s top tier, so it’s going to be intriguing to see if Ajer can follow suit.

He’s matured nicely in the past couple of years and has the right temperament to be a success.
