Leeds United will not be signing Ben White this summer after Brighton slammed the door shut on any potential sale of the defender.
A report from Sky Sports has confirmed that Brighton will not be selling White, especially to Leeds, as they don’t want to be seen to be strengthening a rival in the same league.

The news will come as a bitter blow to Leeds and their manager, Marcelo Bielsa. The White boss got the best out of the 22-year-old last season at Elland Road and was hoping to bring him back for their return to the PL.
However, the Seagulls have taken their stance and will now not sell, despite Leeds already bidding around £25m for the defender.

It means Leeds will likely move on to looking at other options, with Robin Koch the name being mentioned by most outlets. Indeed, the Sun claimed just a few days back that Kock could join Leeds in a £20m deal.

It was always going to be a hard ask for Leeds to get White back and so it has proved.
Brighton are not a daft club and they know that by allowing the 22-year-old to move to Leeds, they’d be giving a rival at the same end of the table a big boost.
White, then, will now be hoping to be given a chance to prove himself by Graham Potter. If he doesn’t, then it could prove to be a frustrating season for the prospect.
A move could still happen, though. The Daily Mail claimed Tottenham were in the race a few days back and they could well offer more than Leeds and tempt White away.
