Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea for Tino Livramento.

According to Goal, the Seagulls are ‘closing in’ on the teenage defender who is set to leave the Blues this summer. Livramento played in the same youth side as Brighton star Tariq Lamptey in the 2019/20 season.

The 18-year-old fullback, who can also play as a winger, is one of the most exciting talents at Chelsea.

The defender was named the club’s Academy Player of the Year for last season. Livramento has also drawn comparisons to 2002 FIFA World Cup winner Cafu as reported by the Sun.

However, with first-team chances unlikely at Chelsea, the defender is looking for a new opportunity away from west London.

And Brighton appear to have won the race for the youngster. Whilst Lamptey is the club’s starting right wing-back in Graham Potter’s 3-5-2 formation, injury ruled the defender out for a good portion of last season.

Indeed, Joel Veltman did a solid job as cover for the England youth international. But Livramento could provide more athletic cover for Lamptey given the Chelsea youngsters age and versatility down the flanks.

With Brighton set to beat the likes of RB Leipzig and AC Milan for the teenager, the south coast club are adding a serious talent to their ranks next season in Livramento.
