According to The Telegraph, Brighton and Hove Albion are ‘braced’ for bids for star midfielder Yves Bissouma, amid continued interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bissouma, 24, has been tipped to leave the Seagulls this summer. Both Liverpool and Arsenal have registered their interest in the midfielder, who could fetch up to £40m.

The Telegraph’s report states that Liverpool could be most likely to make the first move. Bissouma is viewed as a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, and Jurgen Klopp may look to strike before anyone else.

But Arsenal also hold a long-standing interest in Bissouma. The Mali international has previously expressed his love for the Gunners, meaning any bid from them is likely to catch Bissouma’s attention.

The Brighton star has flourished under Graham Potter. In recent weeks he’s impressed against both Chelsea and Liverpool, enhancing his repuation further by proving himself agains the very best.

The great thing for Bissouma here is he’ll have the pick of the bunch this summer. A number of clubs seem to want him and he’ll be able to pick and choose where he lands, providing the bids come in.

£40m might be a stretch for some clubs but Arsenal are expected to sell a number of players to raise funds. Liverpool, meanwhile, need to replace Wijnaldum and FSG are under pressure to get fans back onboard.

The signing of Bissouma, then, could well do that for the Reds ownership.
