Brentford are considering offering Marcus Forss a six-year contract, with Eurosport reporting that the Bees are hoping to see off interest in the striker from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund.
Forss has been in remarkable form since the start of last season. He scored 11 goals in 18 League One appearances on loan at AFC Wimbledon last term.

And while he has only made two starts in the Championship this year, he has found the back of the net five times for Thomas Frank’s side.
He has also scored twice in four Carabao Cup appearances ahead of Brentford’s quarter-final tie with Newcastle on Tuesday.

Eurosport reports that both Spurs and Dortmund are monitoring the Finland international. But Brentford are hoping that they can convince him to sign a new six-year contract.
TBR View: Big statement from Brentford as they look to set sights on keeping Forss for long-term
Brentford have been superb in the transfer market in recent years. And part of their success has actually come from when they have sold some of their best players.
They have secured big fees for a number of their stars in recent years. And some may have wondered whether a substantial bid for Forss from the likes of Spurs or Dortmund may have tempted them.
It remains to be seen if their arm can be twisted. And there is no question that agreeing a six-year contract also ensures that his value increases considerably.
But agreeing an extension would surely be a sign that they see Forss playing a massive role in the club’s future. Given the quality of the players that they have sold, that is really saying something about the striker’s potential.
