Borussia Dortmund will try to poach a player from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. According to a report by 90min, Dortmund are the latest club to take an interest in wantaway Liverpool forward Bobby Duncan.
Dortmund join Fiorentina and FC Nordsjaelland in the race for Duncan. According to The Daily Mail, both clubs have tried and failed to land Duncan this summer. And the striker’s agent has been vocal in suggesting Liverpool are holding the youngster to ransom with a lack of game time.
The 18-year-old played for the U18s and U23s last season, scoring 32 times for the academy teams. But he wants to play first-team football. After featuring in pre-season, he feels he is ready to step up.
Duncan might be tempted to follow Jadon Sancho’s path. The pair played together at Manchester City’s academy but have moved on since. But while Duncan is stuck in the youth teams, Sancho is flourishing with first-team football at Dortmund and he is now a permanent fixture in the England side.
If Duncan feels undervalued at Liverpool, he needs to get out. It will become too toxic with the fans and the other players after all that has been said and done.
Dortmund seems like an interesting challenge for the England youth international. Duncan can join Sancho in Germany and his route to the first-team is not as congested.
