The Guardian have claimed that Borussia Dortmund are looking to raid former manager Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool squad and take Rhian Brewster to Germany, ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool are seemingly willing to let 19-year-old Brewster leave on loan in January, after handing the England Under-21 star his debut in the Carabao Cup against MK Dons. His second Liverpool outing came in the next round against Arsenal.
The report claims Leeds are said to be considering Brewster, given that Arsenal may look to recall Eddie Nketiah come January. That is because Brewster’s England Under-21 teammate has not been playing enough games at Elland Road.
Other Premier League sides have been linked with Brewster, including Crystal Palace and Aston Villa. Now, Champions League side Dortmund are keen on Brewster – though it remains to be seen if they want him on loan or permanently.
TBR’s view – Liverpool cannot sell, but Sancho may turn Brewster’s head
Jadon Sancho’s decision to swap Manchester City for Dortmund has paid dividends. The teenage winger is one of the most feared attackers in the Bundesliga and he has already clocked up more than 10 caps for England.
Liverpool, though, simply cannot let him go. Brewster has an enormous future ahead of him, and a loan move would be ideal – particularly to a Championship side where he will be afforded plenty of game time – something that is unlikely at Dortmund.
But Sancho’s success at Dortmund may just turn Brewster’s head.
