Lancashire Live is reporting that Blackburn Rovers are confident of Luke Brennan signing a new deal at Ewood Park, despite interest from Leeds United.
The report claims that Leeds are keen on the 18-year-old left-winger, who has been in fine form for the Blackburn youth teams this season.
The teenager has provided seven assists and scored three goals in 16 games for the under-18s this season. He also played seven games for the club’s under-23s.

Rovers announced on their official website that an offer had been made to Brennan to remain at Ewood Park with his current contract expiring this summer. However, they have ‘so far been unable’ to reach an agreement.
Whilst Leeds United will be interested in the deal to sign Brennan, with Liverpool also keen, Lancashire Live has declared that the Championship side are ‘optimistic’ that Brennan will remain with a clear pathway to first-team football.
Leeds United would have to pay compensation to Blackburn for any potential deal for the player, despite his contract expiring.
Liverpool are also mentioned in the report but Leeds United will undoubtedly feel they offer a better chance of regular first-team football.
Time will tell if Brennan does decide to stick around at Blackburn or if Leeds United can add another talented youngster to Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side.
