According to Inter News, Birmingham City have offered €7 million for Inter Milan striker George Puscas. However, the San Siro club value the 23-year-old between €8 and €10 million. Meanwhile, Puscas himself is not convinced that a switch to the Championship would be in his best interests. Ligue 1 club Saint Etienne also apparently hold an interest in his services.
Inter are said to be happy to part with Puscas this summer, at the right price, in order to invest the funds raised into their pursuits of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku. However, Birmingham will have to improve their offer if they’re to bring the forward to St Andrew’s Stadium.
Pep Clotet certainly needs to sign a new goalscorer this summer. Following the exit of Che Adams, the Blues lack convincing attacking options. Puscas would certainly offer the club some much-needed strength in depth in this part of the pitch.
Puscas impressed last season whilst on loan with Palermo in Serie B. In 33 appearances for the club, the eight-cap Romania international notched nine goals and three assists.
Puscas is an exciting player with plenty of potential. However, it is doubtful that he is ready to replace a player as influential as Adams. Given the price Inter are demanding for Puscas, Clotet would be better served by taking his search for a new striker elsewhere.
