Report: Bielsa convinces 24-year-old to join Leeds after talks, he thinks he'll play a key role
Marcelo Bielsa has apparently convinced Junior Firpo that he will play a key role at Leeds United, according to Sport.
Leeds were in competition with a number of other Premier League sides for the left-back, but the latest update from Spain claims that the transfer should now go through in the near future.
A few more details of how the transfer has come about how now developed too.
They say that Leeds have been intent on signing Firpo for some time, and both Victor Orta and Bielsa personally spoke to the full-back.
While outlining the plans, it is claimed that Firpo was totally convinced by the Leeds boss, and now believes he will play an important role at Elland Road.
It is also said that Leeds’ attacking style of play appeals to the rapid full-back.
In that sense he should fit in very well, as the Barcelona man possesses a great deal of energy and speed.
Firpo is more renowned for his attacking qualities than his defensive steel, and that could perfectly suit a Bielsa side, who always try and play on the front foot.
