They say that Leeds have been intent on signing Firpo for some time, and both Victor Orta and Bielsa personally spoke to the full-back.

While outlining the plans, it is claimed that Firpo was totally convinced by the Leeds boss, and now believes he will play an important role at Elland Road.

It is also said that Leeds’ attacking style of play appeals to the rapid full-back.

In that sense he should fit in very well, as the Barcelona man possesses a great deal of energy and speed.

Firpo is more renowned for his attacking qualities than his defensive steel, and that could perfectly suit a Bielsa side, who always try and play on the front foot.

Firpo’s impending arrival looks like exciting news for Leeds, as it should give them even further quality going forward.

The Whites had Gjanni Alioski has their first choice left-back this season and while he did a solid job, it is clear that Bielsa and Orta felt that the left side was an area of their squad which they believed could be improved.
