Leeds United have changed their mind about signing a new number 10, the Athletic report, after the form of Rodrigo last season.
Changing minds
Marcelo Bielsa has been looking to add another playmaker to his group heading into the summer.
However, Rodrigo – and Tyler Roberts – both finished the season strongly.
And it now seems that snapping up a new creator is not on Leeds’ to do list this summer.
Leeds are looking at landing a new goalkeeper, a central midfielder and potentially a winger this summer – with Junior Firpo also arriving.
But the Whites are not particularly interested in landing an advanced playmaker any more.
Pressure on
That will put pressure on Rodrigo to continue his excellent showings, although his form was highly encouraging in the latter weeks of the campaign.

The Spaniard made a slow start to life at Elland Road after arriving for a club record £29 million (BBC Sport), but he seemed to have adapted to life in England by the time that the season closed.
His performance as Leeds hammered Burnley at Turf Moor was particularly eye catching.
And it could be that Rodrigo plays a big role for Bielsa’s men next term now.
