Report: Bernard’s agent in England to discuss Everton future

According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato.It, Bernard’s agent is set to meet with Everton to discuss his future amid interest from Roma.

The 28-year-old has played a peripheral role for Carlo Ancelotti’s men this season. He has made just two starts in the Premier League, with a further four appearances coming from the bench.

His situation appears to have caught Roma’s attention. According to the report, the Serie A side continue to hold an interest in the attacking midfielder.

And it seems that they may soon receive a little more clarity on his availability. Calciomercato.It reports that Bernard’s agent is set to travel to England for a number of meetings.

It is claimed that one of those will take place at Everton and centre around Bernard’s future.

Bernard can be a brilliant player for Ancelotti to have up his sleeve. But it would surely be best for all parties if a move could be agreed during one of the coming windows.

As shown by Spotrac, the Brazil international is one of the best paid players at Goodison Park. He apparently earns £120,000-a-week.

That is an incredible amount to pay for a player who has managed to make just two league starts this season. Moving him off the wage bill therefore, would hand Ancelotti’s funds a significant boost.

And if Roma make an offer, Bernard will surely be tempted. So it will be interesting to see what follows once his agent has met with Everton.
